| I paint what I know and love. My
paintings represent intimate glimpses, favorite places, times of
day, and the beauty of the seasons. Flowers, tress and gardens
are especially inspiring to me. They represent the epitome of color
and form in nature. The play of light and shadow also play a
prominent role in my compositions.
My goal is to bring attention to moments
which might otherwise go unnoticed... the way light hits an object,
the natural colors of a subject and its shadows, a unique
atmosphere. I am constantly stimulated by everything I see and
hope I can pass along my unique vision to the viewer, as well as a
psychological well-being and peace... the enjoyment of being "in the
moment." Though my paintings may be somewhat realistic, they employ
the subtleties and exaggerations of color and composition a
photograph can never show. |
